Short- and Medium-term outcomes of Melody Pulmonary Valve - US Trial

n=136; 5 centers
Median age: 19 yrs (7 - 53 yrs)
Implanted attemped in 124
Implant not attempted in 12 - 6 due to coronary compression (figure 2 below)
Outcome:
RVOT gradient (median): 37 mmHg (pre) & 12 mmHg (immediate post)
Moderate-Severe PR in 81% (pre) ---> Mild or no PR (post: immediate and 1-yr post, 1 yr f-up complete in 65 pts)
Freedom from Stent fracture: 77% at 14 months
Freedom from valve reintervention or Melody valve dysfunction 93% at 1 yr.
Risk factors: Higher RVOT gradient at discharge & younger age.
1 death - Intracranial hemorrhage after coronary artery dissection
Conduit rupture - needed valve explantation
